remember a squared plus b squared equals c squared, where "C" is your diagonal measurement? if both a and b are 8" then 8 squared plus 8 squared = (64+64=128) and the square route of 128 = 11.31708 so... about 11 and a third inches

using the Pythagorean theorem the answer is 11.313 feet.

You can do the math.

Take square of each side , add together, then find the square root of that sum which will be your diagonal.
