  1. You are WACKED...  you want a plane from ebay and you don't know what it costs to fly...

    LMAO!!!!!

Hey, I take that back... sorry, was being a wisea$$...

BTW, I just walked out back and checked my inventory - I have a nice 4 seater I'll sell you for 30K - I'll even have it delivered...

  2. There are an awful lot of variables involved. Operating costs per hour can include things like annual inspection costs, oil/filter changes, paint/interior refurbishments, insurance, tire replacement, and a reserve fund for engine overhaul. And that doesn't cover anything that may break down along the way. Sometimes a radio will quit working, clogged fuel injectors, magnetoes going bad, and the list is endless.

I agree with others. Unless you are a certified mechanic, I wouldn't buy a plane on ebay unless you can go and look at it yourself (assuming you know what to look for) and you can have a pre-buy inspection made by a trustworthy mechanic. You also want to have a look at all the logbooks and run a titile search to make certain there are no liens against the aircraft. I would look at a lot of different aircraft before deciding. If you are not already a pilot, I would at least have a good start on my certificate before thinking of buying a plane.

  3. Hold on who want to but a plane on ebay for 150K , that seems high for a two seater. Are you a pilot? Do you have enough money to keep it at the airport? The cost per hour would be around 70 dollars.

  4. around 100 to 300  on gas  depending  on the  engine   and  how  fast  and  high  do  u  go

  5. That depends on what type of plane you finally buy.  With so many choices out there, it would be almost impossible to answer this question without more detail on the type of aircraft.

  6. You need to do a lot more research before spending your money.  $150,000.00 will buy you a lot of airplane at that market level, but eBay would not be the right place to go to buy it.

You need to consult with people with whom you can sit down and discuss the details, including your attorney and one or more reputable aircraft dealers.

The way to get started is to find the nearest airport that has a flight school and pay them a visit.  Sit down with some instructors and pilots who have some experience.  They can tell you what aircraft dealers and brokers in your area have good reputations.

For $150K you can buy an airplane that will have a direct operating cost of $25 per hour.  You can also buy an older twin that cruises at 300 MPH and costs $400/hour to operate.

So there are lots of trade-offs, and lots of things you need to know about and think about.  No snap decisions.

    Good luck.
