Basically, I have a stock amp in my car, and I dont want to connect the + and - from the HU to each speaker, because I would then be overdriving my amp. Instead, I have decided to run RCA pre-outs of my new HU (L and R channels for both front and rears) into those connections on my amp, so that they dont get a powered signal, and then the stock amp will cross that over to my 6 speakers.

MY PROBLEM IS there are 8 cables on the stock harness a + and a - for each speaker = 8 total. When I use the RCA pre-outs I have 4 connections total, (RCA's dont have a + and - just signal and ground)

My question is what is the proper way to hook the RCA's to the stock harness since I only have 4 signal connections from the RCA but 8 connections on the harness?

Hope that makes sense. I know its a little ghetto rigged, but in my car (06 cobalt ss w/ stock pioneer system) I dont have much of a choice :(

  1. I'd use a low level line output converter, and just grab a left and a right signal positive at the input of the LOC and just ground the negatives of the LOC
