I drink at least 2 litres of water a day, but i also drink about 5 coffees a day aswell and i really want to quit as i am keeping fit and my exercise instructor said to totally cut it out as it will affect my dieting. Is this true, should i cut it out completely or maybe drink tea instead? I hate green tea so thats out of the question !! ha ha. What do you suggest?

  1. Tea or coffee, they are as bad as eachother! They damage your teath AND your diet. The same thing happened to me but i chew a chewing gum always! Not one of those sugar ones, the white fresh ones, i buy a couple of packets a week and i always chew them. It helps me only drink 1 coffee a day or non, and cut out smocking, and also not drink as much tea!

  2. If you depend on coffee in order to stay alert during the day, I suggest you rely on something other than caffeine. Cut down slowly if you rely on it that much. Tea may help. There are different kinds of tea other than green tea such as chamomile tea or black tea.

If it is your heart you are working for, caffeine may put some strain on it, increasing your heart rate and blood pressure--which is what exercise does in general. No need to double it with the risk of anxiety, high blood pressure, and jitters, right?

Also, coffee can trigger food cravings, stimulate appetite, increase stress which increases body fat, and increase insulin resistance.

Personally, I'd listen to your instructor.

  3. Try lipton black tea instead its the nicest tea ever!

  4. Try red tea, not as healthy as green, not as bad as black. Red and green teas are both naturally decaffeinated. There is a red tea flavored with french vanilla that is really good, so if you are into flavored coffee this may curve that craving. Try moving away from sugars as well, try more natural sugar such as fructose or maybe just a dab of honey. I find that I can drink most tea without sugar, especial the ones with the fruit flavors and the french vanilla.

  5. try other types of tea

  6. If you drink black coffee I dont see what the problem would be, it is a stimulant that helps speed up your metabolism.

  7. I'd say limit yourself to one a day. The caffeine in it can actually give your metabolism a bit of a boost, so one coffee will not be detrimental. Although, if possible don;t go for an extremely milky latte, go for something healthier - like an Americano.

Have you tried fruit infusions? They are similar to green tea, but without the bitter tang. Not as many health benefits, but certainly good for you and might help take the coffee craving away if you're still having your hot drink.
