In the fall I am signed up for 10 credit hours. I also work full-time. And I have a 5-year old son who is starting kindergarten. Do you think that is just too much?

  1. It really depends on the classes and how much work is involved.

  2. Only you can say if it's too much. If you can do 10 credit hours in between work and a 5 year old, you go for it. I think it's great you are continuing your education.

  3. nope.is normal.

  4. For me it would be too much...The best thing I can tell you is that to figure out how much studying you will need to do for your classes and whether or not you will have to do things like term papers etc.  Generally you can figure on 1hr of study a week for each credit hour of the course...so if you have a course that is 3 credits it is projected that you should spend three hours a week on that class outside of class.

From the sounds of it if you decide to pursue this you will not be home very much because you will be at work or at school and when you are home you will be studying or trying to catch up with cleaning etc.

I take 12 credits work 20hrs a week and have 2 children (12 and 17) with severed emotional problems as well as one having learning disabilities, and I am very busy.  I don't think I would be able to work full time on top of it.

  5. Being a Kindergarten and First Grade teacher I would say yes.  This is your little ones first year of school and he will need you a lot.  This is a big change for him and you may have problems if he gets pushed to the side for your schooling.  I commend you on continuing you education just try to be careful because it can get very stressful.  During college I took 12 -14 credit hours with a full time job and didn't have time for anything else.  I guess it really depends on your classes and the stress of your job.  Best of luck!!!

  6. no but i will suggest tht you work at your own pace that might help relieve some stress you may encounter

  7. I would cut back on the classes.  Maybe try two the first go around and see how you do.  It is very difficult to manage children, a job and school at the same time, but 10 credits is almost full time (at most schools) and that could be quite a workload.  If you think you can do it, go for it, but it sounds like you're having your doubts.  I would cut it back to a class or two if I were you.

  8. only you no how much is to much do what you have to do but dont let your school and son suffer good luck
