Question:

I am trying to eat more heathly. any tips?

i love junk food but i try to eat not so much of it any more since i found out that my blood sugar was high so i try not to eat as many sweets. But all the healthy foods i try to eat taste really bad. Any ideas on what foods are good for you and that taste good too!

  1. Hiya hun adding flavouring such as herbs and spices give really flavour to any meal.

    i love qaurn chill,i qaurn shepards pie, veggie fajitas, falafals,i bulk out meals with veg and salad.

  2. try shopping at whole foods, they sell really good organic, healthy things. Hope this helps!!!

  3. You need to learn to cook.  Find a good cookbook, and buy fresh produce and whole grains.  Eliminate processed c**p and it will change your taste in food.  Natural and simple will start to sound appealing.

  4. Anything natural and in moderation. Eat brown rices, whole grain cereals, delicious salads with marinated grilled chicken, beans, tuna, frozen lean meals (check sodium) Low fat wraps with turkey or tuna or chicken, lay off the ranch and mayo, low fat snacks if you have to have a snack (100 cal packs are good), no salt almonds and walnuts

    Enjoy desserts every now and again. Allow yourself something delightful and sinful like once a week (at most)

    Stay away from chips and other salty/greasy snacks. They do nothing for you but add weight.

    Most importantly--take into consideration what you put in your body. Think about where it came from, who has touched it, if there is any nutritional value, etc. Think about what you would and would not feed your newborn baby. Only natural things that are good for the bod, right? Use your body as a temple and only allow beautiful things to enter it. Think about that huge double bacon burger sitting in your belly that just shocks and huts your system and make you feel like shiot.

    Good luck--remember to allow yourself some goodies sometimes. Not a full bag of Doritos but you know.  

  5. you could drink diet soda and eat veggies too. i mean carrots and corn aren't that bad! sugar free gum tastes the same but it is less fattening and it doesn't have so much sugar. something sweet is like bananas and apples are good and healthy. Even fruit smoothies and V8, thats the best!

Limit your saturated fat intake, get rid of trans fats.  Increase your fresh & raw veggie intake, along with whole fruits, whole grains and soy products(beans etc..)  You can have sugar and fats nothing wrong with that, it's when we go over-board and eat half the package.  It's best to only buy a small amount of sweets at a time, so they are not available at home to binge on.

  7. with the junk food just keep all junk food out of your house and say to your self hey junk food is just sugar and fat thats all it is.  about the healthy foods try something like apples and organges, and even watermeleon its all good.  

  8. Well To Get Rid Of That Junk Food Section in Your Body, Everyone's Gotta Have a Little Dairy Right? Try Eating Milk,Yogart,Or Cheese.And Plain Bread Ex: Italian. Is Really Good By Its Self!! Have You Tried Eating Bread By Its Self? Its Really Good! And Good For You!! Spagetti and Pasta Are Good Too. They Help You Grow and Are Good. They Carry Very Little Sugars.i Always Eat Fruits When i Eat Too Much Junk Food. Ex: Apples.Bananas.Or Even...Strawberries!!Or/And Some Meat Too.Or Fish..Or...Chicken! Those Carry Little Sugar. and Taste Great! Just Be Careful. i Dont Want To Give YOu Any Ideas You Might Be illergic to! So If Your illergic to Something i Told You, Dont Eat it!

  10. first of all we have all been in your situation so dont feel bad that u must stick to a boring tasteless diet.

    healthy food doesnt mean tastleless food.

    examples of healthy foods:

    couscous- a morrocan version of polenta which is small grains of pasta. there are seasoned couscous like lemon flavour or spicy flavor.

    it's very light and filling too. all you need is to put it in a bowl and add boiling water. THAT'S IT, EASY and HEALTHY

    frozen fruits- buy frozen fruits and make smoothies with them. use soy milk and the frozen fruit add cinamon and honey. again EASY and HEALTHY. very good for when u get the sugar munchies.

    frozen vegetables- get the grilled vegetables so you won't feel that u are eating bland food. use the grilled vegetables that come frozen on ANYTHING. use it with egg whites to make a spanish omelette. use it  with pasta.

    whole wheat pasta and bread

    use olive oil as the only thing you cook with

    low fat fruit yogurt

    in short eat anything you want but in moderation and that are low fat and low in sugar> if you want ice cream eat sorbet

Well, fruit tastes sweet and is healthy, so you could try that.  And, well, my favorite way to prepare a vegetable is fried zucchini.  Grate the zucchini, stir in an egg and about a tablespoon of flour and then fry the batter in pancake shapes in a pan.  Add some lemon when you're done to make it taste even better.  Good luck!
