My boyfriend use to play this game when he was a kid. Instead of taking over countries like in RISK, you would take over companies. I believe it started with an "A", but I am not sure. If anyone can remember the name, I would really appreciate it.

  1. Could it be called Risky Business? That would be awesome.

  2. I remember a simila board game i think it was called Business or something (not kidding).  Or it could have been the business version of RISK..

  3. It is Acquire.

  4. I think it is Acquire

  5. Sounds like it could be "Acquire". While not really Risk-like it is about taking over chains of hotels, it starts with an "A" and it is a classic. It was originally published back to the 1960's and has been around in different versions since then (don't know how old your BF is...).

Check out http://boardgamegeek.com/game/5 for a description and some pictures.

  6. Donald Trump had a game where you can try to control companies, artworks, and other items of value. I can't remember what its called.

Another game by Parker Bros. (I think) was called Oil Tycoon, where you could take over companies. I also seem to remember a game called Cattle Baron where you could buy out your rivals. These games may not be available any longer.

  7. Hi

Try a computer game called Capitalism II. Your bf will enjoy that one alot, it's a business simulation that lets the player have complete control of the supply chain (mine, manufacture, market and sell), hire/fire management, research new products and what you're looking for.. a stock market that lets you buy stock in other companies and (eventually) buy them out.

    Enjoy!
