I gave her up for adoption because I was too young to be a good mother. Please help us find her?

  1. Did you go through an adoption agency? if so they migth be able to help you. otherwise someone had to have helped you??? talk with them maybe they know something you don't. Was she given up at birth? if so check the hospital they might be able to help.

I have a friend who adopted you baby out and the grandmother kept in contact with the adopted parents and my friend didn't even know she did until her mother passed on and she was going through her belongings.

    It never hurts to try...

Good luck with your search and God Bless and help you!

  2. Aren't you able to find an agency that would contact your daughter and ask if she has interest in meeting you?  I have an adopted son, and that was how it was done.

  3. Start with registering with the state registries where the birth took place and the ISRR.

  4. Just make sure you are prepared to find her...and also consider if she wants to be "found".

  5. Sign up with the International Soundex Reunion Registry at:

    And...

Also, most states have a reunion registry.  Google your state & adoption to find the state's adoption laws, registry, search assistance, etc.

Contact the agency that handled your adoption and requested your non-identifying information.  Leave a letter (or fill out their form) authorizing the release of your information with that agency.

Consider finding a search group in your area.

I made 1st contact (with a 1/2 sib) within 3 months of sending my first letter (pre-internet! LOL) Met my first mom the following weekend. The only cost was a few dollars here and there for copies.

Write to me if you'd like.

With a little info, I may be able to add some ideas...

    Good Luck!
