  1. do you mean people who donate the eggs?

because they get told if it works or not..

they dont hv nothing to do with the person who they have given it to

if your going through ivf then basically you have to do pregnancy tests.. and if it comes up positive you go to a sonogram by the ivf people to back it up

  2. Not sure exactly what you're asking here but if you do IVF then about 9 days later you have a beta blood test done to see if it was successful or not. If not you generally stop all your meds then and wait until after your next cycle to try again. If you are pregnant they will set up an ultrasound and probably at least one or 2 more beta blood tests to make sure your levels are rising like they should be. Usually you will stay under the care of your specialist until about 10-12 weeks and then be realeased to a regular ob/gyn for prenatal care.

  3. We went through IVF treatment - my RE had us scheduled for a blood test at 15 days after the egg retrieval.  I went to the lab, had my blood drawn and the nurse called me back about 3 hours later with the results . . . thank goodness we got our positive / they had my hcg level at 215 which is a solid positive result on a blood pregnancy test for that point in time.  They called me on the telephone same day - no need to wait for a letter or anything like that!

We then scheduled an ultrasound for 3 weeks later and at the ultrasound we discovered that we were expecting twins.  Following the ultrasound we sat down with the RE to discuss how things were going - just a regular appointment.  Our RE kept monitoring me until around 10 weeks and did another ultrasound to check heartbeats and make sure that the babies were developing normally - at that point he considered me a "graduate" and referred me to an OB for the rest of the pregnancy.

    Hope this helps!
