  1. The difference is that lcd widescreen tv uses a liquid crystal display to display its' images while the Digital Light Processing (DLP) tv is more like a projector, and that plasma tvs are different in that they can support larger screen sizes and more saturation of colors. However, i would recommend an LCD hdtv because it is more recent technology, has a crisper display, and has a longer life span than plasma tvs, as well as works cooler than plasma tvs. im guessing it has a longer life span than projectors also, since projectors will tend to lose their color alignment as time goes on (when the red, blue and green misalign themselves.)

  2. go with a SONY.... their black color look's super cool...they have the best.....and besides it also has all kind of connectivity for all sony products like home theater's, ps3,psp and blu-ray disc players.....

  3. Get an LCD, you'll love it!!

Currently the best LCD out there is the LN-52A650 by Samsung.... it looks INCREDIBLE with the 360/PS3 and Blueray! and pretty much anything else...

Cnet.com just gave the 52 inch version an 8.0 ratingmaking it their best rated LCD tv!! (it also comes in 40 and 46 inch versions)

I've seen this tv myself... and trust me.... this tv is NO JOKE!

    The picture quality is STUNNING!

It has 1080p, 120hz, 50:000:1 Contrast ratio, 4ms Response time, Game/movie/sports modes.. pretty much all the latest goodies to look for in an LCD.. (better response time and contrast ratio than the Sony XBR).. plus it looks cool too (it has a red bezel) Currently Beachcamera.com has the lowest price for the 40 inch model at around 1500

Here is the Cnet.com review for the Samsung LN-52A660

    Samsung LN-40A650:

Also... check out Sony's new 2008 Bravia lineup.. 2008 Sony Bravia lineup:

    http://www.hdtvlounge.net/sony/2008-hdtv...

(specific Sony models to look at: W series, Z series, XBR6,7 and 8, all are top of the line)

    Good Luck!

  4. It really depend on the application you are more on. If you are watching more Satellite Channels, its better to take plasma, because response time of Plasma is quicker compare to LCD. But the limitation of plasma can create burn in the screen. For watching high defination source like DVD, Playstation, etc.. you can take LCD. Advantage of LCD is less power consumption and less weight compare to Plasma. But for the life span they are almost the same 60,000 hours. For DLP, If you are looking for the larger screen, then you can go for DLP. DLP life span is depend on its bulb. Some how similar to the life span of LCD.
