I am trying to get my CDA and read below:?

I am trying to get my CDA in childcare but I'm not in school studying for it because I dont need to go. I already have my 120 clock hours in CDA Preparation, however I don't know how to get together a portfolio (Which has the competency goals, and stuff in it), so I was wondering, is anyone on here a CDA advisor or trainer and could help me out, or maybe someone on here already has their CDA in preschoolers, could you help me get my portfolio together? I really need this degree. Thanks

I'm a CDA Adviser and I teach the 120 Hour course. Your Resource File should contain the 17 required items, labeled and sorted by Goal, your Autobiography and the Parent Questionnaires.You can do this in a three ring binder with dividers or some sort of file box with dividers. Don't give them anything they didn't ask for and make sure all the Competency Statements and your Autobiography are no more or no fewer words than are allowed. Remember to make duplicates for the examiner to send to Washington.

There is really useful information in the book you got from Washington including examples of the Functional Areas that you can use to write the statements.  Remember that the statements are about what you do in your classroom, not what your program's policies are. You need to say things like, "In my classroom I make sure the children are safe by doing a safety inspection every morning before they arrive."
