I am trying to hook up a car stereo up in my house with an amp and i don't want to use a car battery ?

You need a 12v power supply.

That can only handle about 180 watt of power.  If you want much more power, you almost have no choice but to use a battery and the power supply to charge the battery.

almost no way to do it except to buy a converter and there usually a little pricey but you'll be looking for a dc/ac converter good luck finding one...

A 13.8 volt 25 ampere DC bench-top power supply will run 350 watts RMS total atthe cost of about $100 just for the suppkly..
