  1. Never heard of Fat cat but a cup of corn oil works great and once your horse puts on a bit of weight cowboy magic should make them nice and shiny:)

  2. Never heard of Fat Cat sorry, but a cup a day of Corn Oil is great for a weight builder.  Mix in slow and over about 2-3 wks time, and they love it:)

  3. Thoroughbreds have a high metabolism and it is hard to put weight on them... fat cat is a good supplement... I would also give him all day dengi and up his night feed... up the feed slowly so the horse doesn't colic or founder... at my barn the race horse get 4 scoops at night depending on the horse.. try switching grain... for high motabolism horses i have vintage gold and vintage performace. Also the reason why your could not be gaining weight his because he hasnt been wormed.. worm him every 4-6 month... and you sould see results.. all another supplement you may want to try is weight builder. Also beet pulp will help and horse gain weight but be sure to give with water. good luck

  4. my trainer used Fat Cat and liked it.

  5. hey i hav a tb too

and i researched calories 100 and fat cat!

fat cat seemed like the better choice for tb's

actually fat cat is more something to help keep the weight ON

it doesn't really make them blow up ya know?

but if you feed it with regular feedings then i'm sure it would work out great!

  6. i have a appaloosa mare and we would give her flax and canola oil in with her aplles and alfalfa cubes

  7. Never heard of fat cat, either.  But I agree that up to a cup of oil (corn, rice bran, cocoasoya, flaxseed) will really add fat without making him hot, and it's great for coat and muscles.  Just start off with 1/4 c. and slowly increase over a week or 2.   I'm  going to look up Fat Cat now!

  8. Fat Cat is a great supplement, my grandfather used it for his show horses and I use it for mine. The problem is that fat cat is only ment to maintain your horse's weight. I know many people said to try oil but many horses do not like it. I would try getting a higher fat and protein feed. You COuld also try feeding alfalfa hay/cubes, bran, beet pulp, rice bran, weight builder is also good. Feeding 2 - 3 even meals a day would also be good.  Your vet can also give you other ideas.

  9. try show mix, it is what i use for my tb mare in the winter (but you can use it all year round) it puts lots of weight on (which is what your looking for) without giving them extra energy- which tb's realy dont need! lol

    heres what im on about...

she looks a differnt horse altogether! (it is actually her im not joking!)

  10. I have never personally heard of Fat Cat, and I have been working around jumpers and thoroughbreds since I started riding over 13 years ago.

What we usually do to help them put weight on, is make sure their eating habits are good, and they always have enough hay/grass, also a regular worming schedule is a great help.

We feed grain 2-3 times per week, and you can mix in something called beat pulp, it's a weight builder and has always worked wonders, even a tbsp. of corn oil mixed would help, and work wonders.

    Hope this helps.
