Our apt. is clean but I have no control over the neighbors. Magt. has sprayed, we have sprayed, nothing has worked. We have cats and the roaches love the cat food. whenever we feed the cats the roaches fill the bowl. When we cook they come in force from God knows where. You can't even set a plate on the counter for one second. Has anyone found anything that actually works and is safe for use with pets and children?

  1. EWWW.... That's terrible... Well, you can make your own roach baits.. Just get from the laundry isle BORAX it's a laundry additive and mix it with regular CRISCO shortening.. Put it on cardboard pieces and hide in cupboards, behind appliances... Wherever you've seen cockroaches.  They will eat it and take it back to the nest and DIE!

You'll have to find some other way to feed the cats... That's just GROSS..   I would also go through your cupboards and pantry and take any food that's in boxes and put it in plastic/glass containers and seal it up in rubbermaid bins... Wipe down the cabinets with vinegar/water and really do a through cleaning of the apt....

I would spray ORTHOMAX HOME DEFENSE along the INSIDE/OUTSIDE perimeter of your apt.... and also set off acouple foggers and bug bombs... Just be sure to take the cats away with you for the afternoon... Or have someone take care of the animals for acouple days while you clean the apt and get rid of the pests...

    Good luck

  2. Call Orkin they are not that expensive and they guarantee their work, and they keep coming back until it is taken care of. You may even want to suggest this to your apartment managers. Tell your manager that if they don't take care of the problem you are going to report them to the department of public health. You are entitled to live in a place free of pest infestations. There should be a House Bill in your state you can look into, that will protect you.
