I am trying to run Second Life on my computer and I keep getting an error message about my video card. Help!?

The message is: Second Life is unable to run because your video card drivers did not install properly, are out of date, or are for unsupported hardware. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers, and even if you do have the latest, try reinstalling them.

I tried updating them and it seems like my video card drivers are fine but I don't know why it won't work.

  1. Chances are, you do not have a Video Card that is good enough for SL.  

    What video card do you have on your computer?

    Does it work for other games?

    Its going to have to be good enough to support 3D rendering!


  2. Second Life supports specific graphics cards...see below link to determine if your card is actually supported. The site says that if your card isn't on the list it isn't supported.

    You should post the name of your card so that more detailed help can be provided. I'm guessing it's an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150? i've seen posts of users of this card with complaints very similar to yours.
