I am trying to start an fm radio at my school. What equiptment do i need to buy for it?

at my school the already have a studio that they use as the radio show. THey used to have one at my school but then the kids stopped running it. I am not sure if they have all the equiptment. THey also have a lisense. What is the basic equiptment that i need to get for it?

  1. It is hard to say based on what you said. FM studios usually  require a contractor to build and an engineer to run. I am assuming you have an FM radio license and a place that would serve as your studio. You need a lot of equipment including a console, computer, microphones, etc... and it all depends on budget. A microphone alone can cost anywhere between $20 and $10,000.

    So at the very least, you need a console, two microphones (I like the AT 4047 for a basic studio mic. It is moderately priced around $400) and a computer. If you aren't going live, you might be able to skip the console and do everything on software. I would also consider getting a SONY PCM D50, which is a field recorder, just so you could get outside the studio from time to time.
