  1. those are pretty good cars to own and drive, there a lot of fun to drive, make sure before you buy one though you have it checked out real good, they are good cars though ,about as good as anything else on the road, and the get good gas mileage, thats a plus now days, good luck.

  2. stick shift isn't good for a new driver.....you already are going to have so much to think about let alone worrying about shifting...

  3. The second answer is full of c**p.  ALL new drivers should be forced to drive stick shifts.  It'll keep you of off your cell phone and prevent you from doing other stupid stuff since it requires more attention.  Believe me, driving a manual is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it!  As far as the Volkswagen Beetle goes, it's a pretty good car.  Especially if you get one with a diesel engine.  The diesels last forever and get fantastic fuel economy.  They are also very safe for small cars and have plenty of space despite their small size.

  4. if you think you can handle a stick shift, make sure you have a good teacher that knows how to drive one. my first car was a stick shift jeep. that my dad tried to teach me in. he didn't know how to drive a stick very well, though. when my mom taught me it, it worked out a lot better
