  1. Actually, I believe what you really need is a passport from the UK, enter into the US. Visa would be necessary if you are staying in the US for an extended period of time, or working in the US, possibly other reasons as well. You can check with the US consulate in the UK to get the exact details.

  3. the US customs may want you to get a temp visa if you are only going over for a couple of hours or so bring some US money as they won't accept anything else.  This happened to me a couple of years ago on a ski trip.  If you are planning to stay longer it would be a good idea to get a visa or at least get an offical ruling from US Customs
