My main computer has been working fine. The wireless router and modem are connected to this computer. I can connect wirelessly to my network via my laptop, however i cannot on the main computer. Yet the main computer says thats the local area network is connect, not limited connection, 100% connection. Therefore it must be something to do with the settings on the main computer, and considering I haven't touched them, it seems wieird that I am unable to connect to the internet on this computer when I was able to last week, and plus the fact i am able to wirelessly on my laptop.

I am using Windows XP. I have an NTL modem. I have a 'BELKIN, Wirless G plus Router'. I have tried unplugging the cables. I've searched about this but it I can only find situations where people cannot connect via a wireless network on their laptop, not the main computer which the router is connected to, which is the case here. Internet says "Unable to Connect", "Can't establish a connection to the server"

Thanks

  1. You may need to call your Internet Service Provider and explain to them this problem. They may have DNS addresses that need to be entered into your Network. Anyway, they usually help for free if you are a subscriber so give that route a try.

  2. if your already connected to the local network you can´t connect to the same wireless network try unplugging the local cable and give it a shot, anyway why in earth do you want to connect your main pc to the wireless network, i recommend you to use the wired cable its more reliable, and you get higher speed

ps: make sure your wireless card is properly installed or if its a thumb drive make sure its not damaged oh and make sure you even have a wireless adapter
