  1. I am pretty sure that there is no pleace in Australia that hires cars out to under 21 year olds.  i have looked into this myslef as i wanted to hire a car when i went travelling, and i could not find one place. goodluck

  2. They will all let you hire one but it will cost you a lot more than an older driver. If you are coming with someone older, put there name down as the driver.

  3. good luck you could try Avis or budget

  4. Someone asked a simular question a few months back so I did some research and you can easily hire a car between 21 and 25yrs of age for a hire rate but couldnt find anywhere to hire to under 21 yr olds.

I suggest you look around local hire companies not your big ones like Hertz, Thrifty, etc. Go into the hire company and tell them what you're after and see if they can perhaps hire it out to a parent with you as a second driver.

    Good luck.

  5. I live in Queensland and you cannot hire a car if you are aged under 21 unless you can get someone over 21 to go guarantor.

  6. Maybe, but you will be paying extra for insurance.

Generally you need to be at least 25.

Some smaller companies may let you drive at a younger age - they need the business.

Look out for "Wicked" they do camper vans and VW combi's, but its more of a temporary sale.

They buy it back off you when you've done.

Awesome paintwork, all airbrushed 'n stuff.

  7. i think you would be going to get a company to hire you a car under 25 years of age but the only way to find out is to contact some of the hire companies and ask.  Different companies have different rules so try not just the big ones but some of the smaller business' that hire cars.  Also be aware that if you do hire a car and decide to reduce your excess if in an accident that does not cover you for things like a stone chip in the windscreen as I was in Queenland and had ahire car a few months ago and some idiot was speeding and went  off into the gravel and I got a stone chip.  It cost me $140 more on the hire due to that.  Check the car carefully before taking it and point out any marks or dints in the car so you wont be accused of making them on returning the car

  8. Yes if you have a valid drivers licence in your home country,, but be aware rates are a lot higher for under 25s
