  1. It means, first of all, that is sounds like you are in the Ohio/Cleveland area.

    :)

Snow emergencies mean that many businesses maybe closed, they are TRYING to keep the main roads open but secondary and back streets may not be plowed.  It is basically a statement that its best to stay home unless its a MAJOR emergency.

Snow removal is so bad at this time that they have to keep cars out of the path of snow removal equipment, including cars that get stuck, stall, or die in the road.  They are warning you so that you dont go out, so you dont get a ticket and your car impounded when its towed.

  2. Where are you at? If its ohio (Im here with ya) it means you are not allowed to drive anywhere..legally.. you could be arrested if you do. I am not sure if its a state thing or national thing but thats what it means in the big O-H-I-O

  3. cold.

  4. Google your state's Emergency Management Agency.

Heavy snowfalls can cause damage or collapse of buildings and other structures.

Take the necessary precautions to protect yourself from the effects and aftermath of a heavy snowfall.

  5. Depends on what  state and what county you are in.  Those snow emergency codes have yet to be unified so that the levels mean the same thing everywhere.

  6. it means your screwed

  7. it means your are better th leval 4

  8. it means driving across town for a bag of chips is not considered an emergency. stay home

  9. it means that ur screwed!

  10. All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roadways may subject themselves to arrest.

If the level is 3 then you should only drive to work if you are absolutely needed or have a job that is considered emergency related like a nurse, firefighter, or police.
