Question

I went to trial a horse.

and i new other people we interested but the owner had said they didnt call back, we went there and another girl was riding it.,

They seemed interested and they are calling the owner tonight.,

I really liekd the horse and his attitude. but im scared we wont get to him in time. we offered the owner more money and she said she dint want more just to a good home (which supposadly both of us are).

my instructer doesnt finishe= work till 5 and we can ring her there but my odler sister wont let me,

I'm sorry this happened to you - it was extremely rude of the seller to schedule 2 people to see the horse at the same time. If nothing else, it makes it very hard for you to properly evaluate the horse.

Usually, the first person to put a deposit on the horse wins. Can you ask the seller to take a reasonable deposit and hold the horse for 24 hours so you can get your instructor out there to see it? I would call this morning anyway, just to say thanks, I liked the horse, let me know if the other buyer falls through.....

If the seller is being really wishy-washy, I wouldn't deal with them. Its not worth the frustration.

Situations like this are why I always arrange things for my clients when horse shopping, and I don't let them go out by themselves.

Hey, I'm currently the same. Now I'm a bit more understanding of the buying process of horses. I was a bit rash in posting up a ad asking for a quiet horse and got some responses that are not... exactly what I asked for. I thought I found a perfect one, went with my instructor (they're the best ones to take because they know what you're capable of) and she told me the horse isn't suitable to my ability.

But! I can tell you there will be a lovely and perfect horse out there waiting for you! I believe there is one out there waiting for me to find him or for the owner to see my ad and give me a call.

Seriously, don't offer more money. If the owners are more interested in a good home rather than extra money (it's bad! don't offer extra money...) then they are only doing that in the best interest of the horse and themselves.

I'm sure if you were meant to have the horse, you will get it.

Personally though,if I was the owner, I would be insulted that you tried to more less bribe me into selling you the horse, because you offered to pay more.  I agree with the owner about her not wanting more money, just the right home.  But the fact that you thought that more money would get you the horse, would tend to make me consider the other people more.

If the owner truly wants the best for the horse, it won't matter that you offered to pay more.  What does matter is what the owner determines about how you handle the horse, how the horse will be kept, and maybe even what impression your trainer makes.  It's too soon to panic...just wait your turn and do your best.

well i have never been in that situation but i think you should do  try to forget even though if it was me i would be sad too but God does everything for a reason maybe he didn't give you the horse for some reason! everything has its purpose!

strangely enough darling they have not stopped making horses. Other opportunities and probably better opportunities will come along - patience...
