  1. does that 40 mean you aint eating a few days this next week????

  2. It really depends what $40 means to you.

If you are Justin Timberlake, sure, buy in for $40,000.

If you are Joe Smith, work at McDonald's and make minimum wage, you probably want to be careful about blowing your money.

Poker is a skill game, but it still has variance, which makes it gambling.  Even the best players in the world will have bad sessions and lose money.

My concern is that if you play at such low stakes, a tiny down swing will wipe you out.  I'm guessing you are playing at such low stakes because you don't have money to spare.  If you don't have money to spare, you shouldn't gamble.  Only bet what you can afford to lose.

  3. No this is what we call tilting. Let it be and try the next day :)

  4. No, because then you would have lost 60.00!   That is how gambling becomes an addiction.  Gamble only the money that you are comfortable losing.

  5. i would say you need to practice some more before playing for money again.... head over to www.thegrindersgame.com to practice for free and possibly earn money while doing it!

  6. imho, it depends how you lost it. if you had a chance to win but had a couple of bad beats, and lost, then i would be inclined to try again. however, if you really have no idea what you are doing, then you're just throwing the $20 away. if you want to get more enjoyment out of your money, you should spend that money on poker books.

there's a couple of people i've played who were just horrible. when i checked them on sharkscope, they had thousands in losses. while they may win once in a while, the consistent losses just aren't worth it.

  8. What does poker mean to you?  Is it a form of entertainment?  If so, then you should play within your limits.

If poker is a way to make money, then you should not play until you are in a good mental state.  Roy's rule number one is play happy or do not play.

  9. $40 isn't much... if you enjoy it and it takes up much of your time then go ahead. If you are doing it for fun then why stop. You arent' going to ruin your family by depositing $20 bucks in a poker account.
