I am very overweight and my daughter has been invited to go to LA by an acting agent. I want to take her, but

I don't want to cost my daughter her first job and she is extremely talented. I would love some advice on what to do...where to stay that is inexpensive but safe, etc.

I think it would be a good idea to speak to the staff of the agent about what is located in the area. They should be able to provide you with some names, websites & possibly numbers of nearby hotels. You can also check with Travelocity or a similiar place who can give you the information you need. If you go or not depends upon your daughter's age and if she needs you with her. Unless you see a problem with you taking a flight (if need be) you may accompany her on the flight itself, but let her go to the interview(s) on her own.

How did your daughter get an agent in LA if you live so far away? Why does the agent want her to go there? Sounds fishy to me. What is the name of this agent? Let me know right away so I can let you know if it is a SCAM.

Call the agency for recommendations for hotels, they know the ones close by to them.

dont worry about what other people think of you!!! If they like your daughter they wont care about that!!! use google for a place to say!Hope I helped!!!

No offense to you daughter or you, but AGENTS are in it for the money, and Not in a strict sense, for your daughter.

   Another thing you'll have to consider IF she sees an agent, IF she gets any work, You'll have to be present for consent.

   I always advice, they are someone to hire AFTER you no longer need one, but apparently many here believe in them. I have a 25 year of truck I'll let ya have real cheap. I only drove it to Church on Sundays.

   I think a chain, not immediately in a downtown area, might be an OK price, but Safe is relative. I suspect if you aren't familiar with the area, you probably should stay in your room at night.

  Finally, and again with no offense, whatever happened to letting a kid be a kid??? I think a great business to invest in would be the star dust business, and offer free samples for everyone to sprinkle in their eyes.

Give your daughter the chance, she will not be very happy if you dont let her go for her first job!! it doesnt matter if your overweight you can get help and go on a diet why does this affect your daughters job????

if the agent is interested in your daughter what you look like wont reflect on her if she IS talented like you say.

make sure the agency this agent is representing is represented by the guild.

the agent is only interested in your daughter she's a product to him/her. in CA he can make 10% by law off of her if she's a success that's alot of money.

so i wouldn't worry about it. it's your daughter that will either make or break herself.

as in places to stay i usually stay in the hollywood area. west or north. that area has places from 35 - 120 a night.
