  1. There is quite a lot of architecture and monuments to visit in Bourges :

    - Saint-Étienne Cathedral belongs to Unesco world patrimony.

    - Jacques Cœur´s Palace (a rich merchant of the XVe century)

    - Archibishop´s Palace (XVIIe century) - former town hall and its French Gardens (assumed to be from LeNotre)

    - ruins of Romans fortifications.

    - different marsh areas close from Bourges : (marais de l'Yèvre et de la Voiselle)

    - Auron and Berry canals

    then out of Bourges :

    - Westwards : Sologne area and Loire Castles.

Sologne is said to be land of mysteries, water and wood (combination of marshes and forests), with a lot of small villages with red-bricks houses, old Middle-Age houses, manors and castles (400 castles in Sologne), ponds and woods with ducks, rabbits, stags, foxes, etc.

Loire Castles : Chambord, Chenonceaux Castles are around 80 kms from Bourges close to Blois (also a nice small town to visit)

Northward : Orleans and Loire River.

Eastwards : Nevers with its old town (Duke Palace, Saint-Cyr et Sainte-Julitte Cathedral, Formula 1 Magny Cours Circuit)

Southwards : Central Massif with old and extinguised volcanos (Puy de Dome close from Clermont-Ferrand for instance), 120 kms from Bourges with motorway)
