  1. i would suggest you to give a try for the nature's path other than the very usual. you can try the national parks like silent valley in palakkad district or the thattekkad bird sanctuary. places around these locations will also give a different view of kerala.

even if not so nature inclined, boating around the backwaters in alappuzha - cochin regions will be a wonderful experience.

another choice would be the highrange regions of idukki, like thekkadi, kumili and the regions in the tamil nadu border.

  2. visit trivandrum, . you must visit ponmudi, its a picturisque hillstation with tea and coffe plantations, besides herbs. The colourful sea-shores, fringed with coconut trees and paddy fields, here and there are few elevated patches of red cliffs with undulating valleys and plains between the mountainous terrain and the sea - coast, so closely interwoven with Temples and Churches and other edifices ,its kerala-GODS OWN COUNTRY for you

  3. It is good that you are staying at Kovalam, Kovalam beach is really very good , go to Trivandrum, see Sanghumugham beach, Narayana swami temple, visit torism deptt office for conducted tour and therebt you will be able to cover many things in a very short time

  4. It Depends. If you want to be near a Beach, Trivandrum is the place.

If you like wild life go to Idukki 250Km from Trivandrum. You will see mountains animals and largest arch dam in India. Want to enjoy a ride in Backwaters go to Kumarakam in Kottayam. Each district in Kerala have their on speciality. If you think you are lost or need help ask anyone. Compare to rest of the India it is very safe in kerala.
