  1. PDQ arguably makes the best for cruising. They are still building the Larger boats, 44 feet and up but their 36 was (and is) still one of the best available on the brokerage market.   I am also fond of Victory 35s and The Endeavour Cat 35.  Freebird, Lagoon, and Prout also build cruising catamarans but they will be a lot more money for your initial investment.  Some more manufacturers are Privilege, Admiral, Catana and Jeanneau.  They all build good boats, it is just a matter of which particular features you want.  Count on a minimum of $150,000USD to buy a decent one with the right equipment.  Some of them are close to 1million.  A realistic budget for a "top model" is just shy of $500,000USD for a larger PDQ or a newer Jeanneau or the like, outiftted for the average cruise.   As a professional Yacht Broker I can tell you as much as I like the Gemini 105 series they just aren't the quality you would need for a very long cruise.  They are fantastic for coastal cruising, however.   If you contact a local Yacht Broker that specializes in sailboats or even one of the ones in south Florida like 2Hulls or The Catamaran Company they will be able to discuss the positives and negatives of any particular model.  I know this answers your question.

  2. There are lot of catamaran builders.

I can recommend you Sunreef and Yapluka.

You can find more catamarans here http://www.boatcouncil.com/boat-categori...

  3. In Jacksonville, FL, there is amanufacurer there that goes by the name, The Cathouse.  He specializes in catamarans.
