  1. I've used it for years. It's great and natural. It's been used for centuries as a natural sweetener. I'd take my chances on the Stevia over any of the chemically synthesized offerings out there.

Read the article below for some good info. The links on that site offer 1000 packs of Nu-Naturals brand for like $37 from Amazon with free shipping. I don't know if ebay is cheaper.

The unrefined version is not as sweet, takes more for the same effect, and sometimes has a licorice taste to it. I prefer the white powder versions.

  2. Stevia is a natural sweetener used for centuries before modern granular sugar became so available.

Everything we eat, drink & breathe is carcinogenic.  The FDA wants to regulate (ie control for money) the Herbal Medicine market, so they take ancient natural remedies and try and scare you out of using them.

"Green powder is made up of the whole stevia leaf. The white powder is the sweetening portion of the stevia leaf removed through a water process and crystallized. This is called stevia extract or concentrate, it can be up to 400 times sweeter than sugar.  The green powder contains more nutrients and phytonutrients and also has a stronger licorice flavouring."

  3. It would be so much easier and less money to just go to a health food store or good grocery store.   The employees at one of these stores would be most able to help you make a decision about which particular type to buy.

  4. Stevia is the best alternative to using sugar or any artificial sweeteners. I would recommend not going online to purchase your supply of stevia because you may not get exactly what you are looking for. Whole Foods has a great selection of stevia sweeteners. My personal favorite is SweetLeaf because it is all-natural and only uses inulin fiber as a filler. Also, it has no calories, no carbs and no glycemic index - ideal for anyone.

One thing to be aware of when looking at stevia for a sugar replacement is the filler they company uses. A lot of stevia products have maltodextrin as a filler which is absorbed as glucose. I would do extensive research on the stevia product you are looking at before buying because as a diabetic, there's not too much room for error.

Also, I found these videos about SweetLeaf and stevia on YouTube if you want to check them out for more info:

  5. There is a lot of controversy surrounding Stevia and it has been under scrutiny by a number of American and European food councils.

Stevia is thought to be carcinogenic (Cancer causing) in moderate doses and further research needs to be carried out, before Stevia gets the green light.

  6. I would recommend this product that has helped a lot to my father who is diabetic, their antioxidant properties are also very favorable to heal the wounds in people with diabetes, I will leave the link below to know the product and I hope you will help as much as me and my family.

  7. Sorry, it all tastes disgusting and bitter to me.  I've been consuming large quantities of aspartame for 24 years with no side effects or issues, so I'll stay with that.
