I am watching the votes now on t.v and why are some of the states passing on their votes?

I am really, really confused on this

States pass their votes so that McCains home state will put him over the top for votes needed for nomination.

I'm not watching but usually states will pass in order to let the nominees home state give him the votes that makes the nomination official.  Maybe that's what's going on.

/ They are 'passing' so that when the state of Arizona casts their votes, it will be Arizona that make the total votes needed to win the nomination.

This is done quite often in conventions, but not the DNC because of their problems with unity (Hillary supporters).

So that Arizona his home state can push him over the top!  So that Arizona gets to give him the final numbers!
