I am well ready to instruct the martial arts I have learn and worked for. But how do I start my own school?

  1. Your instructor should be able to help you with the teaching part of it.  As for the business side of opening a school, then you should post some questions in the business area of this site.  

    Suggestions from a business owner:

    Enough Capital(cash) to run your school for 6-12 months with no income.

    Best location that you can afford.

    Start your business as a corporation.  More cost up front, but much better in the long run (and safer for you if it fails)



    No contracts.  

    Get Martial Arts School Insurance.  Expensive but worth it.  Protect yourself and your students.

    And most important:  Teach quality Martial Arts.     If you just got your black belt, then you are probably not ready.


  2. Ask your instructor.  If you are ready, then you also would have been coached for this aspect as well.
