  1. use good wire and not cheap preferable gold coated and good speakers

  2. Ok, i'm not criticizing but i work for my father. He runs Eastern Home Solutions which does wiring for all sorts of projects including other home improvement this such as installing plasmas, projections, computer sciences, and even drifts into bars, shuffleboard tables, and pool/poker tables. In all the experience i've had working with him and just hearing stories at the dinner table, do-it-yourself wiring can not only be disatrous but also potentially dangerous. My dad had a client who spent 2 months in a hospital his burns were so bad from messing with a bad wire. So my advice is to just suck it up and pay for it to be done because otherwise you are indangering your health, and if you mess up, you'll have to pay to get it fixed anyway. Hope I haven't offended.
