I am wondering about a rabbit in my backyard...?

There's two rabbits running around in my backyard they weigh about one kg and their fur is greyish with a white tail and I live in the Edmonton suburbs so I was wondering what kind of rabbit it could be.

It sounds like they could be Eastern cottontails (Sylvilagus floridanus).  I'm not certain if their range is known to extend quite as far north as Edmonton, but they're certainly versatile here in the states!
