I am wondering how to turn grasslands and deserts all over the world into green forests.?

How it is possible to plant green trees on grasslands and deserts? Will these solve the problem of global warming?

Please don't. Those biomes are there for a reason, namely to balance the earth's energy and water budget. It may or may not solve GW but we'd have MUCH bigger problems on our hands.
