This type of modem that I have is a U.S. ROBOTICS V.92 FAX HOST INT; therefore, I am wondering how can you use it for the following purposes: Faxing, networking (internet), and making phone calls. In addition, I need some advice regarding how to configure the settings, so I can start the following that I previously mentioned. Thank you!!!!!

  1. Making phone calls using computer: Google Skype

Faxing using computer: Google Faxing via computer

For internet: You already have it.

  2. It should be useable as all three devices, but not at the same time.

Typically the modem will come with software for using your computer microphone and speakers for making phone calls.

(You may need to connect the modem to the sound card inside the PC to make voice calls)

Also, it may have come with software for sending faxes. I believe windows XP has this software built-in. I don't have a modem installed so I can't verify this right now.

As for internet, a local ISP should be able to provide you with service, and if not, AOL, MSN..etc usually have local-access numbers so you don't have to pay long distance charges to connect to them. (They will be able to provide you with the correct settings for their service)

  3. Go to the US Robotics site and download the manual for the model you have.
