Can anyone direct me to a website of an American diner in the Phils? I really want to have an American diner there and I would love to see what Flipinos consider American comfort food. Also, I really need to know what Filipino diners are willing to pay.

  1. I haven't been to a diner in the Philippines before.  That's an interesting concept, though, because everyone loves diner food.  The closest I could think of (only food not the ambience) is TGI Friday's which serves burgers and more of an American cuisine.  Hey, go for it! I'm sure it'll be a hit.

Just wanted to add, Filipinos love the 50's and 60's vibe.  Make it more American-style old-fashioned vintage diner to separate it from regular country food restaurants.

  2. filling station in makati

i cant find their website but here is one write up about the place from a food blogger

    http://www.dessertcomesfirst.com/?p=560

there is also heaven n eggs and butter diner

  3. jollibee,Mc-donald, and kfc..etc... are they have american dinners in the phils.

  4. nice answer avenus!

  5. fridays...?in makati area...try also aristocrat i think its in makati area as well...

  6. There are approximately 427 MacDonald's.

    Any good?

  7. hmmmm...does "Fridays" count as a diner? Filipinos are willing to spend as long as the food tastes great (serving is reasonable) and the place is accessible.  Ambience is also a plus factor.

Maybe you can have american diner with a touch of Filipino food.  I was thinking of McDonalds, there's plenty of McDonalds in the Philippines, since Filipinos' staple food is rice, so McDonalds came up on having meals with rice.

  8. i haven't seen any american diners here in the phils. but i'm not really familiar with american diners. i've only seen them on tv. hehehe.

i think heaven 'n eggs can be a diner. they serve pancakes, waffles, steaks and other american food. they also have milkshakes. the ambiance is also quite american.

heaven 'n eggs food costs around P250 for a meal. and it could reach up to P500 if you're going to eat dessert too.

this resto's target market is upper middle to upper class.

  9. i agree with philip m

  10. we don't have american diners in our country
