For a 1,500 sq.ft. house I am looking to:

-Paint the interior and exterior

-Install pergo (faux wood) floors throguhout entire house

-Install crown molding and new base boards

-Purchase front door

-Purchase 2 new bathroom vanities, 2 toilets and 2 tubs, and tile the wall above each bathtub

-Install granite counters in kitchen

-Install faux wood cabinets in kitchen

-Purchase new stove, sink, and fridge

-Purchase 3 ceiling fans

-Fence in the backyard

What is the ballpark range for all of this with and without labor?

  1. all you have to do is buy whole sale not retail and it will fit you budget just right

  2. I think you would be seriously pushing a $50,000 budget for all you want to do. Even if you did the work yourself.

  3. you want new or old

  4. If you do the labor yourself, you may be able to get all that you want to do accomplished within that budget, depending on your tastes of course.  There is no way that you would be able to contract the labor out and get it and the material and stay within your budget-it is going to be close enough without the labor costs.

If I were you, I would start with the things that are most imperitive to you and get as much done as possible, then do the rest as you can.

Or, you could start with the biggest project and work your way down to the smallest-paint first, then do the floors and moulding/base boards, next do the kitchen, then the bathrooms, then the fencing, then the ceiling fans (which are pretty trivial).  Doing it this way, you could completely finish one project before moving on to another, and not be half finished and run out of funding.

    Hope this helps!  Have fun.
