I am wondering if there are other mums out there who, like me, have an extremely talented sports son/daughter who, without financial assistance to pursue their dream, have thought about creating a site and asking for donations to assist in the costs of competing. If so would you please give me some advice. My apologies if this offends. I want to see my child succeed.

  1. I am not sure about any organizations.  But I do know that if you contact some sports stores.  They will often sponsor different local athletes (providing them with equipt, etc... ) I am sure that you could also speak to different gyms to see if they would be able to assist you in any way with personal training or just gym use.  I do a 3 day challenge walk for Multiple Sclerosis every year and a local gym lets me use their facility while I train as long as on my shirt when I do the walk, I have something that says where I trained at.  Hope that helps!  Send me some info on your child, etc...  nothing too personal of course, I will see what I can do.  I am big with the MS Society but I am sure I could use some of my relationships to help you out!  Kathryn.Durkin@yahoo.com

As for the commentary from the person below.  My mom has been bedridden with MS since I was 10.  I am now in my mid 20's.  Funny thing however, my mom enjoys helping others...  not just herself.  I do plenty of fundraising for MS and  that is MY PASSION.  However, I still help with other organizations.
