  1. Heb 10:39  But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

1Th 5:23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Act 2:27  Because thou wilt not leave my soul in h**l, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Mat 10:28  And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in h**l.

  4. No.

The bible explicitly says "the soul that is sinning, it itself will die". So, in the bible souls die.

It's false 'christians' that say you have a soul, and that it will go to h**l or to heaven. These so-called "christians" (almost all of those here on YA, and about a billion around the earth), have spread their wrong beliefs to the extent that it is seen as the "common knowledge" but nothing towards an eternal soul could be more false.

All living beings (including animals) are "souls" in scripture. A human being is a soul, and when a human dies the whole person dies and is dead and "conscious of nothing at all" Even look at the creation account of Adam, when God created him, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life the man "became a living soul" he was NOT given a soul, but became a soul.

In addition, what is the purpose of the resurrection. The fake "christians" play lip service to it, but what need is there for a resurrection if the person is still living in their eternal soul?

NO! The person (a soul) is actually dead, and the hope for them then relies on the resurrection, the bringing back to life of the whole person as a physical human being. That is the true hope of the bible - for humans, including the resurrected dead to live forever as human beings (human souls) here on earth.

Here's the verification of what I've said:

    ----------------------- ------------------------ ------------------- ---------------------

“Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” (Ezekiel 18:4)

(No this does not refer to 'seperation from god' it means death which = unconsciousness. (see below)

“For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) (this is what death actually is, ie: the opposite of life)

“...God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul. (Genesis 2:7) (notice the man became a soul and was NOT GIVEN A SOUL - look it up yourself, and the meaning of the word soul)

“But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.” (Psalm 37:11)

“The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.” (Psalm 37:29)

    ----------------------- ------------------------ ------------------- ---------------------

PS: Look at those scriptures others have quoted below... the word "SOUL" there all means 'your life' not some special mystical thing you have, but it is YOU YOURSELF.

  5. Jesus said "If your right hand scandalize thee, cut it off, better to enter the Kingdom of Heaven with one arm than to lose one's soul to the devil"

  6. The exact wording "eternal soul" doesn't appear in the Bible.

There are references to eternal life, eternal damnation, eternal judgment, everlasting punishment, etc.

But I do believe in a soul that lives on, for the following reasons:

The "souls" of those who had been "slaughtered" cry out with a loud voice in Revelation 20:4

The soul goes out of a child and back into a child in 1 Kings 17:21,22. "... let this child's soul come into him again... And the soul of the child came into him again..."

There's a clear distinction between good health and the welfare of the soul in 3 John 1:2, where we're told: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

Jesus said of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who had died hundreds of years before: "Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him." Luke 20:37,38

It's impossible to feel torment in annihilation: "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever...And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev 20:10,15

Jesus claimed the rich man was in torments in h**l. That this was not some concocted story is evidenced by his quoting the exact words that Abraham and the rich man said to each other. It is inconceivable that Jesus, who was without sin, would have lied about this in Luke 16

  7. The scripture teaches that the stubborn go to the lake of fire where their souls are killed in payment for their unforgiven sins. Everyone's spirit survives and lives forever but those who have lost their souls in the lake of fire have to be given new ones in order to be saved...

  8. Everyone will live forever, but the question is, where?

Are you sure that if you were to die right now, that you would be in heaven? You can be sure, by believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Death brings immediate heaven or h**l, depending ONLY on whether you believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this life or not.

To be in heaven when you die, believe this:

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is this: The truth is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal h**l is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you are saved!

Please pray now: "Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose from the dead. Thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die. :)
