  1. Do you have any more clues?  There are several Ruth Lundquists.  Are you sure the name is Knoch?

Are they from Minnesota, by any chance?

Is Lundquist your grandmother's maiden or married name?

Do have any dates for Ernest?

comes up if you spell his name "Adolph Ernst Knoch".

Here is the title and first paragraph:

The Life of Adolph Ernst Knoch

through the Eyes of his Son

    ERNEST O. KNOCH

MY FATHER – AS I REMEMBER HIM

“I’M FROM MISSOURI – you’ve got to show me.” How often have I heard my father quote this well known maxim as he labored over the solution to some difficult problem in the Scriptures. Yes, he really was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on December 19, 1874. Although there were many ministers and lawyers among his ancestors, his father, whose name was also Adolph Knoch, held the humble position of janitor of a grammar school there, and young Adolph early learned the meaning of hard work, for it was his duty to sweep out one floor of the building in the morning before school. Unless you put it in your question, we can't tell what country you are in. It is the most frustrating thing Y!A does. Even if you go in through Y!A Australia, Y!A Canada or ordinary Y!A, all the questions in English go into one big "pot". I'm in California, for instance.

It helps to put in birth years or estimated birth years, death years or estimated death years, and countries. With the clue in the biography, I found him in the Mormon census:
