I am writing a paper about the role of adolescents in society, what would this mean, Not sure what to include?

I'm not sure how roles would be defined in our society for adolescents, they basically just jam on ipods, or text on cell phones.

Think of some different aspect of society, and then determine how adolescents impact that area.

For example:

Politics/Elections

Popular Culture (Movies, TV, etc.)

Fashion/Style, etc.

Consumerism/Advertising

The adolescents role in any society is to prepare for adult hood and become the future leaders of society.

Adolescents normally are given a few years to wander between childhood and adulthood...this is so the responsibility is transferred slowly...and hopefully the young adult will be ready to accept the tasks associated with his/her new position in society.

The role of adolescents is very important in society. I couldn't tell you how much joy and inspiration I have received from the two adolescents I have raised and  their friends, as well as the ones you hear about and read about. Not to mention the many lessons they have taught me. You are all what keeps most parents and this world going.  I think the adolescents role is to mainly learn who they truly are and do their very best to become honest productive citizens in society. The most important role is to get a high school diploma.

Why don't you research on the web.  Adolescence does serve a purpose and sounds to me like you don't even know what that is.  Start there and then look around at what they are doing in society.

I would point out that the role of the adolescents has changed over the past 5 decades.  Some teens hold down jobs in order to pay their own bills, some teens are parents already, some teens are suffering from arrested development due to the the constant gaming and lack one on one social skills.   I think maybe they used to be just older children, now they are stand in parents and have a lot of responsibilities that maybe were not so common in the past.  I know my daughter is helping to get dinner for her brother, takes him to activities, goes to the grocery store, has a job and goes to school full time.  All I did was go to school.
