I am writing a story for Language Arts that involves football, and I need to know?

What is the person called who runs with the ball, trying to get a touchdown? The one who catches the ball and runs for it.

Most running is done by a running back. Most catching would be done by a wide receiver.

the one who catches it is the receiver,

the one who throws it is the quarterback

the one who stops them is the defence lol
