  1. There are one road you might take (this is a well-trodden path taken by many professional actors):

Major in theatre arts/drama/acting in college. You'll be able to network here.

This is the method more and more successful stage, screen and TV actresses are taking. It is probably the most professional route. It requires a lot of hard work, many disappointments, and a good deal of frustration. Obviously you'll need fire in your belly to persevere.

Furthrmore, your acting studies do not end here.  You will probably go on to advanced technique study at one of the major acting schools in New York City, Los Angeles or Chicago.

Obviously, this requires a major commitment on your part and your family's.  So there will be a lot of saving, skimping and working at two jobs at the same time.

  2. Best thing to do kiddo is get your head shot out there and please do yourself a favor and be yourself in those head shots.

My brother-in-law is a working movie producer and the biggest pet peeve he has is a "glamor shot" done for your head shot he has turned down more people for not being themselves.

You can believe me or not I'm just trying to help you out. Also if your approached just be careful to get references from people eager to help you get in the business. In other words if someone offers to help you get into a movie make sure it's real and not in a back room somewhere because it happens. You might also want to check and see if your town or one near you has a community college they would probably have a drama club you can minor in. If you do school plays maybe you can have a friend or family member film you that can also be used for a resume or portfolio.

    Break a leg!

  3. What a bunch of nonsense your answerers have tried to pass off as advice! There is no way you are going to become a teen actress in your situation. So if you want to act because you love it, be patient and wait for college and beyond. Doc.

  4. first agents cost nothing they get 10-20% commision

second i also live in a very small town and i just grab every opportunity it has to offer just stay positive and take drama at school and maybe find a private voice and acting caoch if there isnt a community theater in your town (also if there is a slightly larger town with something within a half an hour it is worht a shot)

just act your heart out there is no need to rush into moving and getting an agent research research research and train train train (also student films are great to build a resume)

    best of luck!! happy dreaming!!

  5. I think the harsh reality is that you may have to wait until you are a little older, like when you are on your own, and move to LA or NY, that way you can try to get into the biz that way.  Other than that, you're chances are pretty slim, bc w/o money to be able to travel to other bigger cities, there is virtually no way you can be discovered.  The only other thing I can think of is that you save some money, get some headshots taken, and send them to different agencies through the mail, but that doesn't guarantee anything.
