Benfica midfielder Enzo Perez has apologized for his earlier actions and has asked the fans to support him so that he can get back to his very best.
The 25-year-old had been embroiled in controversy since December and only recently was allowed to return to the club.
Perez had refused to return from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841, as he claimed that he did not receive enough game time at Estadio da Luz and that he wanted to sign for former club Estudiantes on loan. However his demands fell on deaf ears, as the Reds refused to comply with his wishes.
Eventually the player agreed to return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 with his agent and negotiated with the club in order to reach a compromise. Benfica claimed that he had broken the rules and regulations of his contract and that although he could join the team, he would have to pay a hefty fine as well.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Jesus was unimpressed by his frolics but agreed to give him another chance and try his luck at the helm. Perez returned to training and has been recovering from a knee operation he had in September.
While he hasn’t played any game for the Eagles since his return, he is edging closer to full fitness and should be up for selection shortly.
Meanwhile, the Argentine has taken out time to address the supporters and admitted that he had made a huge mistake by doing what he did after his holidays.
Speaking to reporters, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Godoy-Cruz-c39433 man said that he made a mistake and then got carried away by it, which proved harmful for both himself and Benfica.
"An illusion still exists. Sometimes we make mistakes and we let ourselves get carried away by comments that end up being harmful. I'm sorry, this was not a good thing for me or for the club. I ask the Benfica fans to help me. I will try to recover the best way and return to action as soon as possible to help the team."
He also added that although he wasn’t quite ready to play just yet, the Lisbon giants were doing quite well without him and their attitude on the pitch was brilliant.
"The forecasts are made by the doctors. The team is very reliable, we have great faith in them and their attitude to win games at home and abroad is fantastic, this motivates the supporters as well,” Enzo Perez said.
The attacking midfielder is close to making his return for the Portuguese outfit but it remains to be seen if he can became an integral part of Jorge Jesus’ plans for the season.
Benfica possess quality players in the centre of the park and despite the Argentina International’s talents, it will be hard for him to crack the first team.
