hi, i'm italian and i live in rome!!!  from petra hotel to vatican is far 37.2 km!!! you can see the maps with google maps......

This hotel is outside the city! is in the middle of nowhere.

I hope is economically convenient! can take you 2 hours with public transportation from the hotel to the Vatican.

I don't want  to scare you , but only warn you.

You can take the underground to the vatican from your hotel

You will have to take Bus 046 at Schiavonetti road  to the Anagnina station. From the station , you would take line A  to the vatican head toward Barbarini....Get off the metro at Cipro/Musei Vaticani  for the Vatican Museums and get off at Ottaviano for the Basilica.
