It depends on the school. Within three weeks after your application, you should receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the US Department of Education. This report will tell you very little in the way of how much financial aid you stand to receive. The only way to know for sure how much you will get is to conact the financial aid department of your school. I assisted someone with their application 06.12.08 and her school just processed her award letter on 8.8.08. It could take a while since you applied after a critical deadline date (7.1.08) but just follow up with the school to see if they've gotten anything. Good luck.

Applying for fin aid is a process that can take weeks, sometimes months to complete.  You need to contact your school immediately (esp if you are trying to start school this fall) and find out what you need to do to speed up the process.  Most schools won't issue finanical aid "Award letters" without additional paperwork from you even after you have done your fasfa.
