I went to the group interview because they are opening up at store in my hometown. After the interview i was asked to stay behind with one other person. After that i had to fill out more paper work and was then asked to do a drug test at a testing facility. If i pass the drug test, does that mean i pretty much have the job?

  1. i think you are in!

  2. Actually, what it means is they are actually considering based upon your drug test results and background check.

The system that they use is they will dismiss potential applicants that they are not interested in. For the applicants they are interested in they will keep behind to fill out additional new hire paperwork in the event they did extend an offer to you. If you applied for a management position (non salaried such as a CSAS, Area/Department Supervisor) you will then have your second interview with the other two members of the exceutive team (SM, ASM).

They will then submit your information to the background check system which will check to see if you have ever previously shop lifted and you were listed in USMA, any publically available court records for yoru zip codes that you are/have been associated with, and to see if you owe Kohls any money (such as past due Kohls Charge Card, outstanding check that was not paid). If you owe them money, you will be required to satisfy that before an offer will be extended.

Once they have decided that they are interested in bringing you on board, they will extend an offer to you and then require you to submit to a drug test within 48 hours of the job offer. Sometimes the process will change depending on market and store area.

    Hope that helps!

  3. You most likely have the job as long as you pass the drug test. They wouldn't have paid for you to get a drug test if they didn't want to hire you.

  4. You get the job when they call and say, " You are hired " . In the mean time, you can assume they are very interested in hiring you.

Especially if they didn't ask everyone to fill out more paperwork and be drug tested. A drug test is usually standard before hiring. I don't bother to drug test people I don't want to hire. I suspect they don't either.

Why not call the person who talked to you and sent you for the drug test? Say you are excited and hope to be hired. Just say you wanted to find out when they will notify who they are hiring.

  5. It's not a guarantee that you got it, but it means that you have a better chance than those that weren't asked to stay. It's still pending the drug test, and possibly a second interview, but, your chances are good.

  6. Doesn't mean you have the job, just means your chances are good.

  7. I say yes.  Companies pay for the drug test.  Normally they wouldn't go out of their way to pay for it if they didn't intend on hiring you.

That's usually been the case with me and people I know.

  8. probably.  most companies are not going to pay for a drug test for someone they are not considering hiring

  9. figure the drug test costs them money, they wouldn't spend money on you if they were not interested in you.

  10. I think u got the job
