My F-1 visa is approved by the US embassy in Islamabad but i have not received my passport yet. I gave the interview on July 1st and today is 14th August and i didnt get my pasport yet.

My classes are beginning september 3rd. What if i do not get my passport in time? I emailed the university nad they said, they dont allow late student but can wait upto 1 week and for that they have to issue me a new I-20. I do not want to waste 4 months and apply for next semester. Any one know the solution. I am very worried.

  1. Contact the US embassy.  Once approved, it should not take this long.

  2. Well, you can certainly call the US embassy, however, cases that require additional administrative processing can indeed take this long, and longer. If it's not ready, it's likely that they won't be able to tell you exactly when it will be ready. If things don't work out, try to get the school to allow you to start next semester.
