  1. if you really wanted to go - then you wouldn't have dropped out - consider your options - perhaps on the job training would be more suited to your abilities?

  2. People are so mean! I agree with the person above me about the foundation course - I did that too and it turned out to be one of the best education decisions I've ever made.

I would recommend sending a letter/email or ringing Hertfordshire Uni Admissions department telling them about your situation and asking for advice.

I think there is still a chance, you have extenuating circumstances - they should and will take that into account

  3. Well as much as a sympathise with you, your mum should have let you carry on because its in your future interests.

Universities wont really care for the reasons why you didn't get your work done, You could maybe do night classes, they do that at my college, I'm also doing BTEC Nation Diploma, but in IT.

  4. Firstly, there are two institutions to contact.  Get in touch with Hertfordshire Uni Admissions (preferably the department you applied for) and explain the situation.  Ask them what you need to do in order to gain the place you'd applied for.  I failed to gain the grades I wanted for the course I'd applied for and still wanted to attend the same uni - they may offer you a 1 year foundation course to make up the difference (could be subject to a suitable reference from your college).

Next, assuming you need to repeat the second year or cannot get in to Hertfordshire without a reference, you'll need to contact your college to discuss options that may allow you to pick up your BTEC and complete it.

I did a foundation year, realised I didn't want my original course choice and changed my mind but loved the uni (Loughborough) so know it was the right choice.

  5. Obviously you didn't really want to go. If you'd really wanted to go you'd have done the work required.

You are an adult now. The world doesn't owe you any favours. If you want to go to university, then get yourself back to college and complete your BTEC. If not, stop whinging - you are a big girl, you have to live with your own decisions.
