  1. You do not need to worry about what you should ask for, there is a set rate for deckhands based on their experience. It is not like applying for a position in a corporation. Good luck on getting the job- lots of people are looking for jobs in this area. In a face to face interview, be honest- if you have no experience, say so. Also you may add this- I'm a quick leaner, a hard worker, and if you hire me, I'll make you a good employee. Do not ask about benefits, you will have plenty of time to find about them after you get hired-They will tell you what the job pays when they interview you.. Good luck!

  2. they will pay you the going rate that they pay for deck hands, depending how much experience you have.  you won't be asking them for $.  supply and demand and they have the jobs and lots of deckhands looking for work.

good luck, they are a good company and i have booked many barges with them in the past.
