i am applying for a morgage, and my boss got his accountant to do a p60.the morgage was granted as my earnings for a week were quite high.these figures were correct as this is what i recieve in cash every week.then the lending company wanted a p21 ,which lis my problem .the statement says i was earning only half of my orignal amount weekly.so now the lending company thinks i am telling lies.i never get pay slips and never gets a p60.what can i do and what are my rights

  1. If you never get a pay slip and never get a P60 there is something amiss!  It sounds as if you are working cash in hand and your employer is not putting your correct remuneration on his books.  Unless you are actually self employed and paying your own tax i have to wonder just what basis you are working on and whether you are paying any tax or national insurance. Your boss is probably not deducting any or you would get a p60 each year.

You have no 'rights'!  A Bank or Building Society is under no obligation to offer you a mortgage at any time. It is their cash, they can lend it to whoever they like, or not lend it as the case may be.
